How does ClearUp AI increase image resolution?+
It uses an AI image model guided by a strict super-resolution prompt: reconstruct sharpness and fine detail while keeping every original object, color, and composition unchanged.
How long does upscaling take?+
Usually 20 to 40 seconds, depending on current AI server load.
Will upscaling change the content of my photo?+
The system prompt explicitly instructs the AI not to invent any new background, scenery, or elements — if the original background is blank, plain, or transparent, it stays that way after processing. That said, since this is a generative AI model rather than a traditional pixel-level algorithm, true alpha transparency isn't currently preserved: a transparent background becomes a plain, solid-colored background in the output. If you need transparency preserved for design or cutout use, that isn't supported yet.
Are my photos saved or used for training?+
Photos are transmitted securely via encrypted channels and data is cleared after processing. Please note that the underlying AI processing service may use submitted images for model improvement. We recommend avoiding photos that contain sensitive personal information.
What image formats are supported?+
JPG, PNG, WEBP, BMP and other common formats are supported. Output is a 2K or 4K PNG.
Is the output a fixed multiplier of my original image?+
No — output is a fixed resolution tier (2K is about 2048px, 4K is about 3840px) rather than a multiple of the input size, regardless of how large or small your original photo is.
